All Workstations are windows 7 and  every class has at least one computer class per week.

We offer the Microsoft User Specialist Qualification (MOUS) to our senior students.

We also have 30 Laptops which our students can borrow and use as in any class as we have WIFI throughout the campus.

All classrooms are equipped with a workstation and a dataprojector with Internet connectivity.


Supervised Study

Is available for all students from 16:00 to 18:00 Monday to Thursday.

Sports Hall/Outdoor Hard-Courts

The sports hall is used regularly by students for indoor soccer, basketball and table-tennis. The newly resurfaced basketball courts are in constant use by the students before school and at lunchtimes.


September 2011, we opened a new canteen facility using our PE Hall to seat the students. We now have a breakfast, morning break and lunch time service operating everyday.

Student of the Year Awards

Awarded at a school function at the end of the year to the best overall student in each year, this award goes to students who have proved themselves both academically and personally.

High Achievement  Award

Leaving Certificate Students that achieve 450 or more are awarded a High Achievement Award.

Student Cycle students that take all subjects at Higher level are awarded a High Achievement Award.

Doody Cup and Atkinson Shield

Awarded annually to the students with the best results in Leaving and Junior Certificate examinations.

Kincaid Cup


Awarded annually to the student with the best results in Science subjects in the Leaving Certificate.

3RD Level Scholarships


Arklow CBS in conjunction with Arklow Credit Union and Arklow Urban Town Council offers a number of third level scholarships to sixth year Leaving Certificate students taking up tertiary courses.

Endeavour Cup


The Endeavour Cup was donated by Mr. Fintan Fanning, Assistant Garda Commissioner & Past Pupil. This cup is awarded to one student each year in recognition of the effort put into their education.



The school chaplain, Fr Michael  visits the school regularly to meet the students and to celebrate Mass and the sacraments.


Each year parents and prospective students are invited to visit the school during enrolment week.  

We aslo hold an annual Parents' Evening in April / May for incoming first year students

School Uniform

Students of the school wear the school uniform, this consists of a grey trousers, jumper/hoodie displaying the school crest, blue shirt and a navy tie. All Junior Cycle students must wear our School Jacket.

Parent's Council

Parents are involved in a very integral way in our school. They participate in management, in educational initiatives, in funding and in formulating the Discipline Code of the school.
