World Mental Health Day 2025

Arklow CBS marked World Mental Health Day on October 10th with a wonderful non-uniform day celebrating positivity and wellbeing. The day
began with a flag-raising ceremony for Pieta House, led by our TY students, Student Council members, and the Wellbeing Committee,
highlighting the school’s commitment to mental health awareness and support. The official theme for World Mental Health Day 2025 is “Mental
Health in Humanitarian Emergencies”, reminding us of the importance of compassion, understanding, and support for those facing difficult
circumstances worldwide. During tutorial, students took time to reflect and wrote down three things they were grateful for, which were later put on
display around the school to spread good vibes. Everyone was also encouraged to write a thank-you note to a member of staff, creating a
lovely atmosphere of appreciation and connection. The celebrations continued with a walk to the beach and a doughnut for all, giving students
a well-deserved chance to relax and enjoy time together. To top it all off, a homework-free weekend was announced — much to everyone’s delight! A
big thank you to all who helped make the day such a success and a true celebration of wellbeing.

year. Head Boy Aaron Byrne and Vice Head Boy Jack Fleming McDermott delivered inspiring speeches, reminding us that even small acts of kindness
can have a powerful impact, before TY Future Leaders Aaron Clarke and Adam Chase raised the flag. It was a truly proud day for the entire school
community, celebrating our commitment to hope, wellbeing, and supporting one another.
Gaeltacht na Rinne

Bhí turas iontach ag ár ndaltaí ón chéad agus an dara bliain chuig Coláiste na Rinne, Co.Phort Láirge. Bhí an aimsir go maith agus bhí chuile dhuine i
ndea-ghiúmar. Rinne na daltaí an iarracht maidir le labhairt na Gaeilge agus tháinig gach duine abhaile le níos mó Gaeilge agus cuimhní deasa.
Mhol na cinnirí na leaids mar gheall ar a gcuid iompar agus a gcuid n-iarrachtaí. Gabhaimid ár mbuíochas le Ms. E Kinsella, Ms. Doyle agus le
Majella a bhí i éineacht leis na daltaí.
Mar a deir an seanfhocal "Beatha an teanga í a labhairt" Our 1st and 2nd-year students enjoyed a wonderfully successful trip to the
Gaeltacht at Coláiste na Rinne. With the weather on their side and spirits high, the students embraced the experience wholeheartedly. They made a
fantastic effort to immerse themselves in the Irish language, returning home not only with improved language skills but also with cherished
memories from their time away.
The college staff praised the students for their impeccable manners, exemplary behavior, and enthusiastic participation throughout the trip. As
the saying goes, "Beatha an teanga í a labhairt"—the life of a language is in speaking it. A special thank you to Ms. E. Kinsella and Ms.Doyle for
accompanying the students and making this trip a memorable and enriching experience for all involved!

6th Year Theatre Outing
Our 6th-year students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin to see the Druid Theatre Company's powerful
production of Macbeth From the moment the performance began, they were drawn into a gripping tale of ambition, betrayal, and dark prophecy.
The actors brought Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy to life with intensity and emotion, leaving the audience spellbound. This outing was not only an
inspiring cultural experience but also an excellent way to prepare students for their Leaving Cert Paper 2 in June, giving them fresh insights into the
text and a deeper appreciation of the play’s themes and characters.
