IT Facilities
The school runs Window 10 on all workstations and all students are given dedicated email accounts, access to Microsoft Office to use on 5 devices at home and attend Computer classes.We have two IT labs for general computer classes and for research in other classes and a third room is equipped with workstations for our DCG classes. We also have two class sets of a laptops which can be booked for use by students in any classroom.
We offer the Microsoft Office Users Specialist Certification(MOUS) to our students, this valuable course provides students with an internationally recognised qualification in I.T.
All classrooms are equipped with workstations and data-projectors with both network and wifi access.
Supervised Study
Is available for all students from 16:00 to 18:00 Monday to Thursday.
Kincaid Library
We have a dedicated library which teacher can bring their class to or borrow books from. We offer library services over lunchtime each day and after school so students can access the library and can remain in the library until 5pm each day.
Homework/Study Club
1st and 2nd Years can avail of our homework/study club, the after school club runs from 16:00 until 17:00, Monday to Thursday.
Sports Hall/Outdoor Hard-Courts and Gaelic Pitch
The sports hall is timetables for all PE classes throughout the week. Our outdoor basketball courts are in constant use by the students before school and at lunchtimes everyday. Likewise our Gaelic pitch is in daily use weather permitting during lunchtime.
Canteen
The school canteen is open from 8pm. We offer free breakfast to all students that are in before 08:45. We offer healthy hot meals during our morning break and lunchtimes everyday. Students can pre-order their lunch to avoid queuing.
Student of the Year Awards
Awarded at a school function at the end of the year to the best overall student in each year, this award goes to students who have proved themselves both academically and personally .
Atkinson Shield
Awarded annually to the students with the best results in Junior Certificate examinations.
Doody Cup
Awarded annually to the students with the best results in Leaving Certificate examinations.
Kincaid Cup
Awarded annually to the student with the best results in Science subjects in the Leaving Certificate
Endeavour Cup
The Endeavour Cup was donated by Mr. Fintan Fanning, Assistant Garda Commissioner & Past Pupil. This cup is awarded to one student each year in recognition of the effort put into their education.
3rd Level Scholarships
Arklow CBS in conjunction with Arklow Credit Union offers a number of third level scholarships to sixth year Leaving Certificate students taking up tertiary courses.
Chaplain
Our school chaplain, Fr. Michael Murtagh, visits the school regularly to meet the students and to celebrate Mass and the sacraments.
Enrolment
Each year parents and prospective students are invited to visit the school during enrolment week and open evening. Parents can complete an expression of Interest online and our school office staff will be in contact.
School Uniform
Students of the school wear the school uniform, this consists of a grey trousers, jumper displaying the school crest, blue shirt and a navey tie. All Junior Cycle students must wear our School Jacket.
Parent's Council
Parents are involved in a very integral way in our school. They participate in management, in educational initiatives, in funding and in formulating school policies and procedures.
