German Exchange in Arklow - Day 1 🇩🇪
Our German exchange students from @ursulinen_wuerzburg and their host students got their week off to a great start yesterday thanks to the enjoyable events organised by Ms Battye.
Students were first brought on a guided tour of Arklow CBS by Mr Somers followed by refreshments and then were distributed to classes.

In the afternoon they all met AMD Cathaoirleach, Mr Pat Kennedy and Mr George Jones, chair of the Irish-German Twinning Association. Other councillors present included Sylvester Bourke and Pat Fitzgerald. Following this, they enjoyed a short tour of Arklow, including the Ormonde Castle, Abbey of the Holy Cross graveyard and Arklow South beach.
The sun shone brightly on the 2nd day of hosting our friends from @ursulinen_wuerzburg!
Students began the day by attending two morning classes including Irish classes where some of our TY students taught the girls some basic phrases as Gaeilge! Everyone then embarked on a trip to a glorious Glendalough, a UNESCO World Heritage site while stopping for a picnic along the way.

A fabulous day was had by all!
The German Exchange group from @ursulinen_wuerzburg spent their Wednesday on a culture- filled trip to our capital city; Dublin.
Students and teachers caught a morning train and visited landmarks such as Leinster House and Georgian Dublin; the National Gallery where they reviewed six paintings of historical and artistic interest, including works by Vermeer, Yeats, Caravaggio, Leech, Maclise and Lavery. This followed with a stroll through Trinity College and a sunny saunter on Grafton street!
