Well done to our Junior hurlers who came out on top against a strong Gaelcholáiste na Mara side in tough weather conditions today in the first round of the South Leinster Championship! The game had everything from strong defending to great attacking play. A special mention must go to Senan Byrne, Lucas Reid, Mark Gleeson, Sean Kavanagh, Ryan Mellon, Jack Wolohan and Ollie Madigan who all got on the score sheet today.
Well done to all our first years who made their debut for their school in fine fashion and wore the Arklow CBS jersey with pride. It was fantastic to see so many students eager to play hurling, some even just starting out in their hurling career.

Many thanks to Mr. Kearney for organising this great opportunity to visit the biggest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show in Europe!
Trip to Wind Energy Job & Education Fair
Our Transition Year students enjoyed a trip to the Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey for Wexford’s first wind energy and job education fair. The Work in Wind event showcased employers from across the industry as well as third level colleges and training providers. Our Transition Year students attended the TY Show 2024 at The Curragh, where they enjoyed an exciting opportunity to engage with a wide range of exhibitors. They connected with representatives from third-level institutions, apprenticeships, businesses, and other career pathways, gaining valuable insights and inspiration for their future plans.

6th Year Higher Options Day
6th year students had a great day out at Higher Options and World Skills Live at the RDS in Dublin where they explored all different career pathways and options for them after the Leaving Certificate.
We hope that this day has given them plenty of food for thought when planning for the next step in their bright future! Many thanks to Career Guidance Councillor Ms Rooney and Year Head Ms Kinsella for accompanying the boys.
6th Year Bonding Trip
Our 6th Year students recently enjoyed an exhilarating bonding trip to Special Ops Airsoft in Roundwood, accompanied by their tutors Ms. King and Ms. Carey. The day was filled with tactical challenges, teamwork, and plenty of laughter as students worked together in intense airsoft matches. The trip was not only a thrilling experience but also strengthened the bond between classmates as they prepared for their final year ahead.
European Day of Languages
September 26th saw Arklow CBS students celebrate European Day of Languages. We celebrated by participating in exciting activities like "Guess the Language" and "Guess the Song," where students listened to music and in various European languages. These fun challenges helped us discover and appreciate the diversity of languages across Europe. We also learned new phrases and explored the cultural significance of different languages, deepening our appreciation for the linguistic richness that connects people across the continent. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn new phrases and experience the richness of European linguistic heritage. Ms. Ryan’s German class were treated to a delicious German breakfast. Thanks to the MFL Department for organising.
