Irish Independent’s Feeder School table
Wicklow People.jpeg
Super statistics for Arklow CBS again in the Irish Independent’s Feeder School table. This data shows that 87% (up 14% from 2023) of last year’s Leaving Certificate group progressed on to third level education.
While we celebrate this success, we recognise that progressing to third level is only one important way of measuring success and we hope that if there was a similar table on student well-being and having a positive school experience that we would be top of the chart! 🥇
School Tie
Fear ‘knot’ if you’ve misplaced your school tie as ties can now be bought from the school office for €10!
TY Chinese Meal! 🥘
Chinese Meal.jpeg Chinese meal 2.jpeg
Last week our TY students had a fantastic meal in our local Chinese restaurant “Asian Harvest”. Our students who are doing Chinese Studies with Mr. O’Gorman as part of their studies in TY were treated to a delicious buffet Chinese meal. A truly enjoyable meal and afternoon was had by all. A special word of thanks to Aggie and her team in “Asian Harvest” for their hospitality.

Basketball

Arklow CBS took on School Mhuire Thurles in the South East Plate final today. 🏀
It was a tough encounter and unfortunately the CBS boys weren’t able to overcome their opponents who had a few club basketball players and that outside of school experience meant they were more clinical when it came to getting their baskets. The Arklow boys showed great character throughout the match displaying a never give up attitude that while it didn’t get them over the line today will stand them in good stead in the future.
Scorers
MVP: Alex O’Brien 10 points, Alecs Panic 4, Liam Flusk 4, Ryan Flanagan 2
Positivity Week
BeACH WITH ps.jpeg
Positivity Week got off to a bright start today with our opening address by our Head Boy Eoghan Ward and Vice Head-Boys James Keeley and Joe Riley followed by a beautiful walk to South Beach!
Welcome Speech for Positivity Week at Arklow CBS by Eoghan Ward:
Good morning everybody
I’m here to welcome you all positivity week.
This week is all about promoting positive mental health, kindness, and looking after ourselves and each other.
It’s a chance to celebrate the power of a positive mindset and to take part in activities that lift our spirits, bring us together, and remind us that no one is ever alone.
Positivity Week is a reminder that even small actions—kind words, a smile, a moment of gratitude—can make a big difference in someone’s day. Let’s support each other, take part in the activities, and most importantly, enjoy the week ahead.
